LIFE

INTRO

I was born in Chur/GR, grew up in Lachen/SZ, Switzerland, and eventually made Zurich my home.

For much of my life, I have followed my curiosity wherever it led me — from dance studios and theatre stages to electronic music, hospitality and visual art.

The disciplines have changed over the years, but the passion behind them has remained remarkably constant: creating experiences, exploring possibilities and giving ideas a form of their own.

MY STORY

After completing my education, I decided to turn my passion for dance into a profession.

With my own dance company, the XS ART DANCERS, I created and performed stage productions, toured Switzerland and Europe, and celebrated winning the Swiss Talent Festival in 1995.

My artistic journey also took me to New York, where I trained at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, and to the Zurich Opera House, where I participated in several major productions.

My creative work soon extended beyond dance. I worked as a professional photographic model and semi-professional catwalk model, while becoming a sought-after choreographer for fashion events, runway shows and promotional productions throughout Switzerland and beyond.

What fascinated me most was the opportunity to turn an idea into an experience — bringing products, brands and individual stories to life through movement, atmosphere and carefully staged visual storytelling.

Film, television, musical theatre and Beat Schlatter’s BingoShow became further chapters of an eventful performing career. Alongside the stage, electronic music was already an important part of my life — from the project skygard to my years as DJ H.I.O.P.

A new professional chapter followed in hospitality and event management. For many years, I managed businesses, led teams and worked with people from many different cultures and backgrounds.

It taught me something that has stayed with me ever since: creating an atmosphere is not only about beautiful surroundings. It is about understanding people, paying attention to details and making them feel genuinely welcome.

During the pandemic, I rediscovered another part of myself — the pleasure of working with my hands. Painting, woodworking, transforming furniture and experimenting with materials gradually opened the door to a new chapter in visual art and ReDesign.

HERE & NOW

Today, I live and work in Zurich as a Visual Artist, ReDesigner and Songwriter.

With LEONIZE, I bring together my passion for visual expression, reinvention and creative design. LEONIS marks my return to music — a studio project shaped by electronic sound, emotion, atmosphere and personal memories.

My creative work is shaped by both imagination and craftsmanship. Whether transforming an existing object, exploring colours and textures or bringing a new visual composition to life, I enjoy the entire process — from the first idea to the final detail.

The places I have visited, the cultures I have encountered and the people I have worked with continue to influence the way I see the world.

What may appear to be different creative worlds has always been connected for me. Movement, music, imagery and human encounters are all part of the same continuing story.

I see my experience not simply as something behind me, but as material from which something new can emerge.

LOOKING FORWARD

I value my past, but I have no desire to live in it.

There are still ideas waiting to take shape, images waiting to be created and melodies waiting to be discovered.

My ambition is to continue developing my artistic work with curiosity, independence and the freedom to explore new directions — while remaining connected to the people, experiences and encounters that have shaped my life.

I am not interested in becoming who I once was. I am interested in discovering what I can become next.

The story continues.
